Luke 6:1-5

The Pharisees cannot see beyond the “letter of the law” criticizing the disciples for picking grain on the Sabbath. They are not harvesting or making food. They are eating what is readily available because they are hungry. Jesus cites a story about David, hiding, hungry and eating bread reserved for priests. If David was able to interpret the law rightly in that context, surely the “Son of Man” is able to do so.

Thank you for helping me to understand that your laws are designed to help me the best person I can be and to draw me closer to you.
