Luke 16:19-31

The rich man is oblivious to the needs of Lazarus. The consequence of his choice to ignore led to his torment for all eternity. Lazarus, on the other hand, suffered throughout his life but at his death was carried by angels to the place of eternal happiness.

Help me to think outside myself and my own needs, to make your concern for the poor my concern and a priority.
