Lk 9:51-56

In the first two lines of today’s Gospel we are given a sense of the finality of this journey and Jesus’ firm determination to move toward the fulfillment of God’s plan. James and John are ready to retaliate in a big way against the Samaritans for their inhospitality but it is better that they move on.

Shaking the dust off my feet comes to mind. It’s no different today. Why when unwelcomed waste time with a useless confrontation? Better to move on looking for new places to spread the Good News. St. Therese, pray for us.
