Matthew 5:20-26

Jesus is taking the Commandments beyond face value, unpacking their meaning. His teaching about the Law and the Prophets is far more radical than the scribes understand. He tells them, for example, that anger can be a step that leads to murder. The root of the sin is therefore sin in and of itself.

There are times when I am not even aware of the anger I hold within until I unexpectedly lash out at another. Be with me as I reach into my heart and soul to reflect, recognize, examine, and reconcile.
