Matthew 7:7-12

Jesus continues to teach about prayer. He tells them to “Ask, seek, knock” — to pray boldly and with confidence. He compares and contrasts God’s graciousness and the efficacy of his gifts by saying that if any parent, even a wicked one, responds to his child’s needs, imagine how much more God gives.

What I have to remember is that you know best. You respond to me, you give to me in ways far more valuable than I could imagine. What I receive may not be what I asked for, but it is always what I need.
