John 17:20-26

At the conclusion of Jesus’ prayer he prays that the disciples who have walked with him, then and in future remain united. It is in that unity, modeled on the union between Jesus and the Father, that the mission is most effective. Disciples are recognized by their love for one another and followed because of that love.

We pray to put first what we have in common rather than arguing our differences. It is in that respect and love we come together united in you.
