Mt 16:13-19
 

Jesus’ shifts his question about his identity from what others say about him to the very personal question, “Who do you say that I am?” Peter, the spokesperson, responds. Though his answer is in some sense on behalf of the others, it is his personal profession of belief. Jesus commissions Peter, the Rock.

Peter is a reminder of the possibilities. As weak as I may be, you will me to be strong. I pray to be able to live out your will.
