Matthew 5:17-19

Jesus tells the disciples that he has not changed the law. It has been nothing but a static set of rules for too long. He is fulfilling the law, making it what it is intended to be by God, living and dynamic. He also tells them that their responsibility is to not just obey the law but to teach it to others.

I pray for those who misunderstand God’s law. May they see that it is not about rules to be obeyed but rather about love, God’s love for us and in turn our love for God and neighbor.
