Jn 20:1-2, 11-18

Mary is the first to encounter the Lord. She does not recognize him. But in a very poignant exchange she recognizes her master’s voice. Jesus commissions her and Mary returns to announce to the others that she has seen the Lord. He is risen.

I can only imagine the excitement and joy Mary must have felt in seeing you. It was such that she could not keep it to herself but had to share the good news with others.
