Matthew 16:13-19

Two questions are posed, the first about popular speculation and the second with a very personal, face to face, heart to heart interest. Peter responds with words that reflect a heartfelt belief. Despite his foibles, he knows who Jesus is and proclaims the truth.

St. Peter, the rock upon which the Church was built, pray for us, that we may faithfully continue the mission of the “Son of the Living God” in the hope of his coming again.
